Soccer Goal Shapes


Regulation soccer goals come without depth, with depth, and box:

Without Depth Shape - Light and portable

  • The goal netting hangs down on a circular metal frame at approximately a 45 degree angle from the cross bar
  • Netting is secured to a ground-bar or by stakes to the ground

With Depth Shape - Roomier and prevents player getting tangled in net

  • Netting extends on a frame off the top crossbar parallel to the ground, angling down at 45 degrees
  • Goals with rounded bars frame the goal back to shape the net and create stability

Box Shape - Professional use, heavy and permanent

  • Box goals are rectangular. The net loops over a box-type frame at right angles from the goal posts.
